National Oceans Symposium and Jambo Arts

Poster Contest

Use your creativity to help others learn more about the ocean. Submit art work that illustrates the what you want the ocean to look like in 20 years – that is 2037!! The winning art work will be featured on poster for the National Oceans Symposium and displayed during the three day event at the ICC.

Content: Depict what you/your student imagine what the ocean will look like in 20 years
Size: 8’ x 11’ – 16’ x 22’
Material: Crayons, pencil, pen, paint, original photographs
Deadline: March 20th, 2017 at 5pm
Categories:  1st – 3rd place for 1st -8th Grade

Are you a poet who is also passionate about the ocean and the environment?
Would you like to perform you poem or spoken word as part of the national dialog on the state of our oceans?

Then this is the competition for you!!

Deadline for entries is March 29th, performance and judging March 31st.
Winners will perform at the National Oceans Symposium between April 3rd-5th, 2017.

Wearable Arts Contest

The objective of the National Oceans Symposium is to gather stakeholders from all levels of government and civil society to inform the National Leadership on priorities, key areas of concern, and desired outcomes arising from RMI’s participation in global forums on ocean-related issues.
